As an Oracle developer you will need to develop software and assist with designing databases using the software provided by Oracle. You will often work with Business Intelligence Analysts and DBA's to insure the software and the databases developed support the business needs. Typically you will work in large financial companies, retail stores, health care or insurance companies that require customized software to support their business needs.
Your main tasks include:
- Design the databases using Oracle's software and troubleshoot any problems with them.
- Design and code the software needed to manage these databases and provide the information needed by the business community.
- Use Oracle's SQL, structured query language and PL/SQL, procedural language to select data for updating, adding, or deleting records for maintaining these databases.
- Test and trouble shoot the software developed to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
