OVERVIEW

This two day course provides your team with all the skills they will need to produce professional-looking reports using this latest Oracle reporting tool. In addition to developing reports using Oracle BI Publisher  either standalone or as part of Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition, students will learn how to administer BI Publisher. Aimed at developers and users wishing to make use of Oracle’s “pixel-perfect” reporting and publishing tool, it covers the creation of simple and advanced report templates, creation of data queries against both relational, web service and OLAP data, security, and integration with Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition. With a workshop style, there are many opportunities for students to practice thru computer workshops with sample data.

INTENDED AUDIENCE

This course is designed for Business Analysts and Reports Developer who will be using Oracle BI Publisher to present their business data.

PREREQUISITES

Solid understanding of Relational and Dimensional Databases and SQL and has completed the OBIEE Create Reports and Dashboards class or equivalent work experience.

  • Describe the methods for RTF template creation
  • Create an RTF template

 Advanced RTF Template Techniques

  • Describe advanced RTF template capabilities
  • Complete a lab using some of those advanced capabilities

 PDF Templates

  • Describe the capabilities of PDF templates
  • Describe other template formats

Building a Data Template

  • Understand data templates
  • Create and associate a data template

Translations

  • Describe the options for translating reports (e.g Discoverer to BI Publisher or Oracle Reports to BI Publisher)
