As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for supporting your company's databases and ensuring their performance, availability and security. As an Oracle DBA, you will need to understand the Oracle architecture and the software provided by Oracle to maintain these databases.
Your main tasks include:
- Ensure availability and performance of the databases that support your company's business systems.
- Work with the team to ensure that the associated hardware resources is allocated to the databases and ensure high availability and optimum performance.
- Proactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime.
- Provide trend analysis to the service management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management.
- Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include rollout, upgrades and new releases.
