Ms. Kalin had her start in the computer industry 30 years ago, when she worked as a programmer at the Pentagon in Washington D.C. After moving to Minnesota, she worked at GELCO (currently GE Capital) as a programmer/analyst and systems analyst, where her duties included both designing and developing financial systems. At Honeywell, she designed a relational database to track retirement savings for Honeywell employees. At Analysts International Corporation (AIC), she provided consulting and training for their Case Tools.
Ms. Kalin has been an instructor at Hennepin Technical College, where she managed the computer careers training, which specialized in programmer training. Currently, Ms. Kalin is the principal owner of ONYX Software Development Training Company, which provides onsite training for medium to large companies, as well as public training in partnership with several other small business owners.
